Rigorous Clinical Oversight: Operating under the specialized supervision of Bridget McCauley, LPC-S, Chief Clinical Officer at The Council on Recovery, ensuring clinical interventions remain sharp, ethical, and aligned with industry-best standards.
A Goal-Oriented Atmosphere: Providing a structured, empathetic space where clients confronting addiction, complex mental health transitions, and dual diagnoses feel both supported and respectfully challenged.
Collaborative Healing: Therapy is approached as an active partnership. Clients are equipped with concrete, evidence-based tools designed to foster lasting autonomy and resilience.

I am Frederick Weatherspoon, M.Ed., LPC-A, LCDC.
Supervised by Bridget McCauley, LPC-S, Chief Clinical Officer at The Council on Recovery.
With over a decade of clinical experience in substance use treatment and behavioral health, I am passionate about helping individuals find their path to recovery and personal growth. Over the past five years, I have proudly served as a counselor at The Council on Recovery, alongside providing care at the Harris County Psychiatric Center and the Dunn Behavioral Sciences Center. I believe that therapy is a collaborative journey. My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing primarily from three core philosophies:
Psychodynamic Theory: Together, we will look at how your past experiences may be shaping your present reality.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): We will work to identify unhelpful thought patterns and develop healthier ways to process challenges.
Reality Therapy: We will focus on the present, evaluating your current choices and finding practical, actionable steps to get you where you want to be.
What I Provide
When you work with me, you can expect a grounded, empathetic, and goal-oriented environment. I specialize in providing individual therapy for those navigating addiction, complex mental health challenges, and life transitions. My goal is to equip you with the tools necessary to take control of your story, make meaningful changes, and achieve a balanced, fulfilling life.
